About Gerry Falletta

Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Girolamo (Gerry) Falletta is the son of Italian immigrants and the first in his family to proudly graduate from university and later go on to law school. Hamilton is known for its large Italian community that continues to thrive, maintaining ties to its heritage and contributing to the city’s multicultural identity.

For over a decade, Gerry was a law partner at Centennial Law Group LLP, serving Hamilton and surrounding areas. The law firm focuses on several practice areas, including real estate/banking and secured transactions, estate planning, landlord-tenant, civil litigation, corporate law, accidents and benefits, personal injury, and slip and fall claims.

Gerry was a litigation lawyer primarily focusing on personal injury at Centennial Law Group LLP and also oversaw the firm’s business operations.

A Passionate Advocate for His Clients

Gerry was a passionate advocate and lawyer for those injured in accidents, helping people get the justice and financial compensation they deserve. He had a strong history and track record in obtaining monetary compensation for injured individuals and their families. He represented clients in all aspects of personal injury litigation, including discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trials.

His clients respected the longstanding relationships he developed with them and valued his effective communication, legal analysis, successful case management, negotiation skills, strategic planning, court expertise, and determination. Gerry invested time and resources in researching and evaluating legal issues, ensuring he identified and achieved the best course of action for his clients.

Education: From University to Paralegal School to Law School

A graduate with a BA degree in Political Science from York University in Toronto, Gerry went on to receive his paralegal diploma from Seneca College in 2003. He received his law degree (LL.B.) in 2012 from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto. Osgoode is quite competitive, with an acceptance rate of eight percent, and is home to the Law Commission of Ontario, the Journal of Law and Social Policy, and the Osgoode Hall Law Journal. Each year, 3,600 applicants vie for just 290 spots.

His Work As a Paralegal

Gerry Falletta worked as a partner/paralegal at Affirm Paralegal Services in Hamilton for seven years before he joined Centennial Law Group LLP. He managed a full caseload comprised of litigation and pre-litigation cases as he advocated on clients’ behalf. He also analyzed and forecasted potential case outcomes, participating in meetings with lawyers to develop strategies for handling claims and causes of action. Gerry was responsible for drafting and filing motions, demand letters, summonses, complaints, and subpoenas.

He started in paralegal work with Simpson Wigle Law LLP in Hamilton, where his experience working at multiple levels of the firm helped him develop a deep understanding and appreciation of all the moving parts of a law practice. Gerry provided legal support to personal injury lawyers, reviewing medical records, discovery responses, and settlement documents. He also communicated with outside counsel, liaised with law enforcement officers, interviewed witnesses and medical personnel, and took detailed testimony notes.

A Real Family Man, A Community Member

Nothing is more important to Girolamo (Gerry) Falletta than his family. He is a father to an 18-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son. Gerry takes care of his 71-year-old mom, who has Parkinson’s. His father died in 2019 due to a brain injury after a fall.

Girolamo Falletta also values his Italian roots and heritage. He volunteers heavily in the Hamilton Italian Canadian community and supports various Hamilton area soccer clubs.

In addition, Gerry supports the Lawyers Feed the Hungry program through the Law Society Foundation. The Foundation supports the pursuit of legal education and supports the most vulnerable in our communities through the hunger relief efforts of the Lawyers Feed the Hungry program in Toronto and communities across Ontario.

A Sports Enthusiast

Gerry is a real sports buff. He played competitive soccer his entire life, including in high school and university, and received various scholarship offers as a young player. He continues to play soccer as well as other sports, including golf, tennis, and basketball. He plays with his son and friends routinely.

Sports are an excellent outlet for Gerry, helping to clear his mind after a long day at the office. The positive physical and mental health gains he finds in sports have been passed down to his children. His son plays high-level competitive soccer, and his daughter participates in competitive dance. “For me, it’s not just about physical health; it’s about learning teamwork, discipline, resilience, and respect, and I instill these values in my children every day,” explains Gerry.
